New Delhi: Indian Coast Guard (ICG) on Friday rescued two US citizens on their boat after facing the thick sea position in the Indian Ocean near Andaman and Nicobar Islands.According to officials, the rescue operation was carried out by the ICG ship Rajveer after a warning of an American-fledged selling vessel by the US consulate in Chennai.The ICG said in a statement, “The Indian Coast Guard rescued two US citizens trapped in a US-fledged sailing vessel, maritime angel, a distressed boat, about 53 miles south of Nicobar Islands.“On receiving a crisis message through the US Consulate in Chennai, ICG ship Rajveer was deployed and responded to the situation of the crisis, navigating through a thick sea position,” said this.Last month, the Coast Guard also rescued three Sri Lankan citizens trapped on a sandbar near Adam Bridge, away from the banks of Dhanushkodi in Tamil Nadu.“Three Sri Lankan who left Sri Lanka in an unknown boat from Sri Lanka in an unknown boat, was dropped in a sandbar by the bridge of Adam near Dhanushkodi.
