A new robot shop in Beijing has sold everything from mechanical butlers to Albert Einstein’s replicas.
More than 100 types of products will be on sale in Robot Mall, which were launched in the Chinese capital on Friday. This store is one of the first in the country selling humanoids and consumer-oriented robots.
The outlet is compared to car dealership as it provides services including sales, spare parts and maintenance.
China has invested heavily in Robotics and Artificial Intelligence (AI) as it seems to remove the challenges such as economic growth and slowing down age population.
Store director Wang Yifan said, “If robots enter thousands of houses, it is not enough to completely trust robotics companies.”
Robots on sale range from 2,000 yuan ($ 278, £ 207) to several million yuan.
The organizers said that visitors would be able to interact with a wide range of robots, including the organizers, including dogs and chess players.
There is also a separate section offering replacement parts and robot maintenance services.
The robot mall is located next to a themed restaurant, where the dinner is served by the robot and the food is cooked by the mechanical chef.
China has given a rapid priority to the robotics industry, with a subsidy in $ 20BN in the last one year.
The Chinese government is also planning a 1 trillion yuan fund for AI and robotics start up.
The Robot Mall was inaugurated with the beginning of the five -day World Robot Conference, which began in Beijing on Friday.
The Chinese state media said that this year’s incident would have more than 1,500 demonstrations from more than 200 local and foreign robotic companies.
Beijing is also preparing to host the inaugural World Humanoid Robot Games from 14 to 17 August.
Teams from more than 20 countries will compete in events including track and field, dance and football.
