More than 120 firefighters are dealing with a grass fire in Daganham which temporarily forced some residents from their homes.
The London Fire Brigade (LFB) stated that 25 fire engines and a wildfire reaction vehicle is on the explosion that covers about eight hectares (20 acres) grasses, shrubs and trees along with fences and garden furniture.

The Brigade said on X: “We are constantly progressing on grass fire in Daganham and residents are able to return to their qualities.”
Residents are being advised to keep their doors and windows closed due to smoke.
LFB stated that its wildfire response provides vehicle off-road capacity that enables the transport of additional equipment close to the fire on the open ground.
Each vehicle carries about 475 liters of water, a backpack blower, ear defenders, beatsers and mistress technology, which allows firefighters to water and drive, allowing them to deal with grass fire more quickly and safely.
The Brigade said that it is also using wildfire beatsers – finally a long handle with a flat piece of rubber. They are used to defeat flames – to prevent the fire from spreading.
LFB was the first alert to fire in 18:30 BST and the crew from the fire stations around Dagenham, Hornchurch, Wennington, Romford and other nearby is on the spot.
