Doctors residents in England have once again voted in favor of the strike action, in the latest chapter in a long -running salary dispute.
After an increase of 22% in the last two years, doctors were previously known as junior doctors, awarded 5.4% increments for this financial year.
But the British Medical Association says that wages are actually about 20% lower than in 2008 and are demanding “salary restoration”.
The ministers have earlier said that their door is open to interact on issues around the work status, but not on salary.
Around 48,000 employees can now participate in the new walkout, although the Sangh said it will hold a new conversation with the government before announcing the strike days.
BMA said that 90% of the members had voted in favor of industrial action in the ballot on 55% polling.
Junior Doctors Committee co-chairman, Ross Neuvoud and Melissa Ryan said that there was still time to stop the strike action.
He said, “Our salary may decline but our desire to fight remains strong.”
“We all need a reliable salary proposal and no one needs a strike.”
The Sangh now has a mandate for possible industrial action for six months by January 2026.
