A reddit user is warning passengers claiming the possibility of scam when they talk about their printed bag tag.
Posted in the “R/Delta” forum on Reddit, the message title is, “Toss your bag tag at home.”
The Reddit user claimed to be a “baggage claim manager”. The person “wanted to tell everyone that please leave your bag tag at home.”

“We are receiving a flow of fraud claims being presented for ‘missing goods’ because these people are seeing who is removing their belongings tag in areas and using their information to present claims for reimbursement,” the user claims.
The post continued, “From my own personal experience [of] Currently dealing with it, it is causing problems[s] If they submit a valid claim with the reimbursement of real people. ,

“So please be careful and don’t close your tag at the airport,” the person concluded. “They can steal enough information from it to use their travel journey program to pay.”
Many flight passengers took to the comment section to argue whether this could be possible – sharing their own thoughts.

A user commented, “My strategy to clearly remove the tag until my next visit is not time,” a user commented.
Another agreed and said, “I really leave my tag on my bag until my next trip.”

The original poster shared the belief that other people could scam the passengers.
