How fuel prices are determined
Since September 2017, Qatarenergy has fixed domestic fuel prices monthly, average to the average international raw benchmark to retail rates. These retail rates include a minor government subsidy and are regulated through the supervision of internal formulas by the Ministry of Energy and Industry.
Why August adjustment matters
- Diesel users cost cost increase: QAR 2.05/L depicts increasing global diesel margin.
- Petrol remains stable: super and premium prices are rates from July, a welcome relief for motorists.
- These small value adjustment, while maintaining transparency in the energy policy, specific global cycles reflect accountability.
The August 2025 fuel price of Qatarenergy is seen in the updated diesel up to QAR 2.05/L, while petrol prices are stable. The structure ensures alignment with international indices, providing residents and businesses with predicted monthly fuel pricing. As usual, prices are reviewed based on the performance of crude oil, which makes the price of low diesel unstable amid global supply changes, but petrol remains a buffer for local stability.
