Experts say that allergic reaction to foods such as pine nuts and goats milk is often sufficient, they may require a warning label.
Food packaging in the UK and the European Union already lists the most common allergy for people, such as eggs, peanuts and mole.
According to an article of Journal Clinical and Experimental allergies, at least four more can be added to the compulsory risk list.
Lead investigator from the allergic vigilance network, Dr. Dominic Saburoud-Locker stated that evidence of increased reactions to a wide range of foods suggested that it was time to review the list of foods with a compulsory label and consider the least the most serious “adding” at least the most serious “in these emerging food allergies.
Researchers say that now the list should be added:
- Goat or sheep
- Cereal
- Peas and Dal
- Pine nut
And other emerging clocks are to keep:

This recommendation comes from experts who saw the food-inspired anaphylaxis cases reported in Europe between 2002–2023.

The agency of food standards states that it recognizes that there are important number of foods that can cause allergies or intolerance.
Spokesperson Dr. James Cooper said, “This is why pre-pack foods should list all components, why food businesses should give clear information about allergies and why we encourage consumers to speak about their allergies.”
