The PGA Tour has long been hired as the first CEO of his new commercial division, built on a temporary agreement with Saudi Backers of IT Live Golf, the Associated Press confirmed on Thursday when IT live was built as CEO of his new commercial division, built two years ago.
J. Monhan, who announced the framework agreement in June 2023, will be as Commissioner of PGA Tour. In December, Monahan announced the discovery of a CEO of PGA Tour Enterprises, which has now supported an investment of $ 1.5 billion from the strategic sports group.
The tour rejected the comment on hiring, reported by the first Sports Business Journal.
A person with direct knowledge of the tour plans confirmed to be hired, speaking on the condition of anonymity because nothing has been announced. Such development is usually not promoted during the major championship.
Rolapp has been with NFL since 2003 and has been working with Executive Vice President and Chief Media and Business Officer since 2017, working with Commissioner Roger Goodll.
The Sports Business Journal obtained a memo Goodll sent to employees on Thursday, which announced that Rolapp would leave to pursue other opportunities.
Monahan announced an agreement with Saudi Arabia’s Public Investment Fund, which was never finalized. A profit-profit hand, PGA Tour Enterprises came from that framework agreement, which will be overseeing Rolap.
The tour was brought to SSG in January 2024, and soon announced its kind of equity plan for the players.
“We are bringing new perspectives to our team to help us feel incredible opportunities for our game,” Monahan said in December.
Meanwhile, talks with PIF stopped in spring to bring the world’s best players together, even with the participation of President Donald Trump, Live Golf wants to keep his team’s concept. Live Golf has since hired Scott O’Neel as its new CEO.
Rolapp brings strong media connections to the PGA tour, starting planning new broadcasting deals running through 2030. The PGA Tour has seen a strong growth this year through a wide response from its fans, including the decision to revive the crown championship of its FEDEX Cup Champion recently.
Arthur Blanc, owners of Atlanta Falcons, who are part of the SSG, were part of the search committee, including Tiger Woods and Adam Scott, Monahan, PGA Tour Board Chairman Joe Gorder and Sam Kennedy.
