Three people were injured, two seriously, in an accident on Charing Cross Road in Central London, immediately after 01:00 BST on Monday.
The London Pedicab Welfare Association (LPWA) stated that the collision “does not include any professional pedicab rider”, but the Met was not able to confirm that it was investigating the incident as theft.
It was claimed because the Dashkam footage revealed the moment when the vehicle entered the route of the N19 bus coming in the opposite direction.

“These were the people who were later responsible for the collision.
“Our rider, who was present at the scene, has confirmed this, and the matter has already informed the police. He is fully cooperating in their ongoing investigation.”
LPWA stated that it agrees that pedicabs should be properly regulated but should not be banned.
A spokesman said: “LPWA is committed to work with TFL to ensure fair, strong and effective rules protecting both passengers and professional riders, keeping pedicabs as a safe and durable part of London’s transport culture.
The Metropolitan police said that both people were seriously injured, in a critical condition.
“The second man is no longer in critical condition and is recovering well in the hospital,” said this.
The third person was discharged from the hospital on the day of the collision.
Forces have been contacted for comment on the claims being stolen.
