Colorado Park Ranger, who claimed that he was attacked and stabbed, was arrested by investigators, his story was allegedly part of a deception that inspired the authorities to a discovery and many schools to launch a lockdown.
26 -year -old Calum Hesket was taken into custody on Thursday and accused of attempting to influence a public servant, both of them tampered with evidence with hooliganism. He also faces false reporting, careless threats, obstructing government operations and official misconduct of second-degree.
Investigators said that discrepancies in their story began to emerge during the investigation of the incident.

According to the Jefferson County Sheriff Office, “As -as the investigation proceeded, heeskett’s statements revealed discrepancies.” “This, along with other conflicting and suspicious evidence, expressed more concern about the validity of his allegations.”

Many schools were placed on the lockdown as a precaution and the residents were asked to stay indoors.
Heskett was taken to a hospital, while the search for the alleged suspect continued for several hours. During that time, two people of interest were detained, interviewed, and investigators determined that they were not involved in the attack.
“After the investigators held their first interview with Heskett, it became even more clear that his story was flawless and wrong,” Sheriff’s office said.
Officials said Heskett lives in a hospital and will be transferred to Jefferson County Jail on its release.
