New Delhi: The head of Air Staff Air Chief Marshal AP Singh on Saturday held the “political will” of the central government responsible for the success of Operation Sindoor, saying that the Indian armed forces carried out missions without any external obstacles. His comment came in response to criticism from the opposition, especially the Leader of the Opposition in Lok Sabha Rahul Gandhi who recently attacked PM Narendra Modi in the House by questioning the government’s resolution.“One of the main reasons for success was the presence of political willpower. We were very clear political will and we were given very clear directions. We were not banned … If there were any obstacles, they were self-made. The forces decided what the rules of engagement would be. We decided how we wanted to control growth. We had complete freedom to plan and execute, ”Singh said at an event at the HAL Management Academy in Bangalore.
The head of the Air Force highlighted that mainly the Defense Staff (CDS) played an important role in uniting the Army, Navy and Air Force to work in coordination. He said, “There was a synchronization between three forces … CD post created a real difference. He was there to bring us together. The NSA also played a big role in getting all agencies,” he said. The IAF chief also emphasized the importance of “ending war”.“Our aim was very clear. Our aim was to teach terrorists a lesson that they would think twice before doing something; now they know what kind of price they can pay.“We were really on a song that night. I heard from so many people … some people very close to me also said ‘and Marna Thi’,” he said.He called the Russian-built S-400 surface-to-air missile system a “game-changer” and said that Pakistan was not able to enter the system. He said, “The border of that system kept Pakistan’s aircraft and UAVs away from the Indian defense system. Due to the S -400 system, Pakistan is not able to enter the Indian air defense system,” he said.Earlier in Parliament, Rahul Gandhi accused PM Modi that there was a lack of political will during Operation Sindoor.
