Openai, the company behind the Artificial Intelligence Chatbott Chatgipt, is expanding its presence in India with a plan to open an office in New Delhi later this year. Next to the launch, the firm has already started hiring talent within the country.

Currently, three posts are open, for the role of all account directors, but spread in various departments – digital natives, large enterprises and strategies. Each of these roles is associated with the sales operations of the company. Three roles demand pre -experience:
Account Director, Digital Natives: The ideal candidate should have more than seven years of experience in selling Platform-e-A-Service (PAA) or Software-e-Sarvis (mother-in-law). Responsibility involves managing a portfolio of accounts from onboarding to renewal.
Account Director, Large Enterprise: Applicants must have experience over a decade in Saas/PAAS sales, with a proven record of meeting about two million dollars annual goals. The role involves handling major customer accounts during his visit with OpenAII.
Account Director, Strategic: For this senior role, the company expects an experience of selling more than 14 years in PAA/SAAS. The candidate will not only lead the accounts, but will also support the recruitment and onboarding of the team.
India’s increasing importance
India is emerging as one of Openai’s most important markets. According to the company, the country is now the second largest user base of the chopping and is also the fastest growing. Weekly active users in India have become quadrupled in the previous year. Additionally, the top five developers are included globally on the OpenAII platforms in India and the largest student population using Chatgpt anywhere in the world is the largest student population.
While Openai is yet to finalize the physical space for its upcoming New Delhi office, it has already registered an official India unit and has started forming a local team. The team will focus on the formation of partnership with governments, businesses, developers and educational institutions, indicating the company’s long -term commitment to the Indian market.
