Arsenal has further bid for Olivia Smith’s super league rivals Liverpool of more than £ 1M world-record.
The current world record is a £ 900,000 Chelsea paid to sign the United States defender Naomi Girma from San Diego Wave in January.
The deal for 20 -year -old Canada International Smith is subject to a medical and personal conditions.
Smith joined Liverpool from Portuguese side sport in the last summer and scored seven times in 20 WSL in his debut season.
Smith joined the Liverpool in July 2024 for a club-record fee of more than £ 200,000 from the Portuguese Club and still has two years left on its contract.
Arsenal has also added Cloe Kelly to its rank on free transfer from Manchester City, with Liverpool Left-back Taylor Hinds.
Smith has played 18 times for Canada, scored four goals.
Liverpool, who finished seventh in WSL last season, see Smith’s sales as a major opportunity to strengthen their squad by re -establishing the transfer fee.
They are currently without a manager since dismissing Matt Beard with former boss Gareth Taylor of Manchester City.
