Maji inaugurated it at the Public Service Bhavan here in the presence of ministers and secretaries of various departments. A dedicated portal – www.amashasana.odisha.gov.in – was also launched to facilitate people to give their opinion on the implementation of various schemes.
Majhi said that to join the people, the state government has started ‘Amma Sashasan’. He said that this is not just one initiative, but this government firm is a resolution to bring governance to every village.
To establish a direct interface between citizens and the government as part of the initiative, the scheme has a toll-free helpline number and a WhatsApp number for speedy communication and grievance redressal.
Under this initiative, the Chief Minister and the ministers will call people randomly and take their feedback to further strengthen various people-focused and welfare schemes. It will also help the administration to make service distribution more effective and democratic.
Immediately after starting the initiative, Majhi called some people, including a school student and inquired about her opinion about various schemes.
During her phone to the girl student, Maji asked her if she and her friends had any complaint against their teachers and headmasters. “If there is a complaint, feel free to call me or helpline number 1447. I and my minister will definitely try to solve any problems facing students,” Majhi asked the girl on the phone.
The girl informed the Chief Minister that she has got financial assistance Under 5,000 Shahid Madho Singh Haha Kharcha scheme, which was introduced with the aim of reducing the dropout rate among ST students in 2024–25 academic year. Under the scheme, a one -time encouragement 5,000 STs are given to students who are enrolled in classes 9 and class 11.
Responding to the Chief Minister’s questions, the girl’s student said she bought books, pen and other requirements, including a dress and a pair of shoes. Majhi also asked the girl whether anyone from the school had demanded any money from her to get financial assistance.
Maji also spoke to a male beneficiary of Ayushman Bharat Pradhan and asked if he was getting the benefit of the scheme and facing problems in hospitals.
“We are committed to working from the first day of the government to serve people. Where the government and administration were out of reach for the first people, the government is now reaching the people itself. The government of the people is reaching the people, by following the opinion of the people, ensuring the service, facilities and rights of every citizen,” CMO said in a post on X.
There was a ‘Mo Sarkar’ program in the previous BJD government, under which the then Chief Minister and ministers were taking response from people in villages.
