New Delhi: The Telugu Desam Party (TDP) on Tuesday denied claims by the YSR Congress Party (YSRCP) about the allocation of land to Oberoi hotels, stating that the allocation was done by the previous government in 2021.TDP national spokesperson Jyothsna Tirunagari dismissed the allegations by senior YSRCP leader B. Karunakar Reddy that Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu hatched a “conspiracy” to hand over “conspiracy” to hand over the valuable Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD) to the Oberoi hotels. He accused former CM Jagan Mohan Reddy of creating a “false story” for the purpose of stopping investors from the state.According to YSRCP S This allocation was made in the name of Oberoi’s special objective vehicle, Mumtaz Hotels Limited. However, some groups cited religious objections citing protests. After the TDP -led NDA government took over, TTD requested the land to be used to ensure that it was used only for the purposes honoring Tirumala’s sanctity and spirituality. After a review, the Naidu government canceled the allocation to Mutz Hotels in August 2025 through a government order and provided an alternative land for the project.“It is very clear that the state government, led by Chandrababu Naidu, is very keen on two issues. One who protects the interests of an investor who intends to invest in Andhra Pradesh as well as keeping in mind the religious sentiments of the people,” said Tirunagari. He said that the tourism department had acquired alternative land for the Oberoi group and the allocation was approved by the State Investment Promotion Committee in its meeting on 22 August.YSRCP leader Karunakar Reddy on Sunday claimed that the prime TTD land of 20 acres in Tirupati, which was priced at Rs 1,500 crore, was exchanged for low-value rural land, resulting in a loss of Rs 1,000 crore allegedly. He accused Naidu of having a conspiracy to surrender the valuable TTD property in Oberoi hotels under the guise of a land exchange. However, TTD dismissed the allegations, in which he was described as “wrong and misleading” about land allocation.
