Several sharks were seen in the water of New York City at the fourth place of July, motivating the city to close a stretch of a temporary beach in Queens.
The video shared on social media features a shark swimming close to the beach in remote rockway, Queens.
Animals were seen near the beach 32nd Street at around 11:30 pm. Between the 144th Street, another vision was reported and a third 30th Street, Kaz Dutri, the city’s deputy mayor, for public safety, was written on X.

“These scenes were very close to the beach. But thanks to the dedicated professionals on drone tech, lifeguards, and @nycemergencymgt, we are keeping all safe because they enjoy the holiday,” Dutry said. “B30 was closed for an hour. But now it is open. We will continue monitoring the beach and keep all the updates.”
Christina Paarel, the first Deputy Commissioner of NYC emergency management, said the agency’s drone unit was monitoring shark activity to keep everyone safe.
Earlier this week, New York Gove Kathy Hochar assured New Yorkers that the authorities were measuring to monitor the sharks with the state beaches, especially on the long island, ahead of the holiday weekend.

New York State Parks Commissioner Prof. Randy Simmons said that his agency was well prepared to keep the beach safe.

“Our employees are well prepared to protect the beaches in this summer season, and we are excited to make the latest technology even more effective,” he said. “I encourage the beaches to guide the park staff and follow directions and am a shark smart enjoying their summer fun.”
