New York City Mayor Eric Adams on Tuesday warned that people do not really understand the word “socialism” “as he faces the Democratic Socialist Zoharan Mamdani on the Democratic Party ticket in the mayorl race.

Adams argued that promises of Mamdani’s campaign, such as the city -owned grocery stores, would harm the working class that it wants to help.
