Officials said on Monday that heavy rains in Central Northern Carolina flooded roads and towns, causing dozens of water to rescue as the residents were forced to flee their homes.
Chapel Hill Fire Department and neighboring agencies completed more than 50 water rescues from Sunday evening, the city said on Monday morning.
Officials said many water rescues in Chappell Hill, where the flood waters or threatened to enter the apartment houses and Kondos, the officials said. Other water rescues occurred at shopping centers, where business and parking sites were flooded.
More than 60 people were displaced in Chappell Hill. Officials said there was no news of injuries till Monday morning.

The city warned the community members to take precautions while traveling on Monday as the officials were still assessing the damage and cleaning the trees below.
In Chautham County, Sheriff Mike Roberson in a social media post warned the residents that the water could be reduced in some areas, but it was still dangerous to travel. He said that the officials were searching for some missing people on Monday morning.

The floods originated from the remains of the tropical depression Chantal, which made a landfall near Lichfield Beach in South Carolina in early Sunday.

Chantal’s remains are expected to move northward on Monday, which is increasing Virginia, Maryland, Delaware and Washington, DC with heavy rains and thunderstorms.
