New Delhi: External Affairs Minister K Jaishankar on Monday reduced US President Donald Trump’s claim that he used trade as a profit to physical the “ceasefire” between India and Pakistan.During the debate on Operation Sindoor in the Lok Sabha, Jaishankar said that “any conversation between India and the United States had a relationship with trade at any level”.“At any level, in any conversation with the United States, there was no connection with the trade and what was going on. Between April 22, there was no call between Prime Minister and President Trump when the President called the PM to express his sympathy, and on 17 June, when he called the Prime Minister to explain why he could not find,” Jayashankar said in Lower House.“When we retaliate for Pakistan’s attack, we got a phone call that Pakistan was ready to stop; but we told them that the request is from DGMO.”Since May 10, when Trump announced on social media that India and Pakistan had agreed to a complete and immediate ceasefire after a long night of the conversation by Washington, he has reiterated his claim on several occasions that he helped to settle the tension between India and Pakistan.Trump claimed that the understanding came through trade talks that helped reduce tension between the two countries.Speaking at the Oval Office of the White House during a meeting with South African President Cyril Ramfosa, Trump said, “If you take a look at everything you do with Pakistan and India. We took a look at that whole, and I think I settled it through business.”However, India continuously maintains the fact that at the end of enmity with Pakistan, two terrorists had reached after direct talks between the military operations (DGMOS) directors. In a 35 -minute phone call with Trump last month, PM Modi strongly stated that India would never “accept mediation” and a discussion was started between Indian and Pakistani militants at the end of military works at Islamabad’s request.Jaishankar carried forward his attack on the Congress party, saying, “There is no temple to question the government on those who did nothing, which brought down the terrorist sites of Bahawalpur and Murid”. The Foreign Minister was referring to the UPA government’s response to the 2008 Mumbai terror attacks.“Who thought that terrorist sites in Bahawalpur and Muridke would be brought down in that way: She in the Lok Sabha. Thanks to India’s diplomacy, the TRF – which is owned by the Pahgam attack – named as a global terrorist organization, “Jayashankar said in the Lok Sabha.India launched Operation Sindor on 7 May, targeting the terrorist infrastructure in Pakistan and Pakistan -occupied Jammu and Kashmir (Pojk) in retaliation for the Pahgam attack, killing 26 civilians.India and Pakistan came to an understanding on May 10 on 10 May to end the conflict after a cross -border drone and missile strikes.
