Reform UK leaders Nigel Faraz is investigating parliamentary standards for possible violation of the rules of MPs on financial interests by a guards.
On Wednesday, the commissioner of the standards announced that he was looking into a possible violation by the provision of the rules, which requires MPs to list income and financial benefits within 28 days.
According to a spokesperson of the Reform UK leader, the investigation was initiated after a complaint by a member of the House of Lords.
Faraj has not said which colleague has referred to him, but told the Telegraph newspaper that he could “clearly state” that the case was not related to any undeclared income.
As Parliament, Parliamentary Commissioner Daniel Greenberg opened an investigation on Monday for standards.
The investigation is in Rules Five, which requires MPs to register “all their current financial interests and any registable benefits” within 28 days.
A spokesperson of Faraj said: “After a complaint from a member of the House of Lords, the commissioners of the standards are doing their work.”
