Officials said the Los Angeles Chargers Lineback Danzel Periman remained behind bars on Saturday when he was taken into custody on arms charges, said.
The duties of Los Angeles Sheriff said that several guns were discovered during a traffic stop on Friday.
According to the law enforcement, at least two guns found are classified as weapons of attacks.

The Sheriff Department said in a statement, “On August 1, 2025, at 9:30 pm, the depot of South Los Angeles Station organized a traffic stop for violating the Los Angeles Chargers Football player Denzel Periman, 32, vehicle code.”
“During the traffic stop, the depot discovered five firearms in Mr. Periman’s vehicle, two of which were an attack-style rifle.”

According to an incident report, NFL veterans were cooperatives with officials during the traffic stop.
Records says that Periman was booked after 10 pm on charges of hooliganism. He is being held at the South Los Angeles Sheriff Station without bonding, the Sheriff Department confirmed.

Periman’s agent Ron Butler said that Pro Bowl Defenders were in touch with legal experts.
“Danzel and our team are still collecting information and working closely with the legal lawyer,” Butler told ESPN. “When I cannot talk to details at this time, we believe that things will be controlled properly through the legal process.”

Periman is scheduled to appear in England Court on Tuesday, the Sheriff Department said.
The team said in a statement, “We are aware of a case related to Denzel and collecting information.”

Periman played for Chargers from 2017-20 and returned to the team in 2024. Periman also had stents with Houston Texas and Las Vegas Reders.
