US President Donald Trump came to a half of his threat to a federal acquisition of Democratic ruled cities-Washington and New York. He called for the Home Rule Act to bring the Washington DC Police Department under direct central control.
A few weeks after Trump’s saying at a cabinet meeting by Trump, DC came to step by that his administration would confiscate control over the city of New York, if the Democratic Party mayor candidate, Indian original Zoharan Mamdani was selected in the November elections.
Trump has called Mammadani a “communist”, while Mamdani, whose pole pitch is based on welfare and service subsidy, calls himself a “a democratic socialist” and said that Trump has also attacked him because of being a Muslim.
“Trump-proofing” is one of the main slogans of NYC Mamdani, which he translated into a new campaign launched on Monday. He had not yet reacted to Trump’s DC Kadam.
What Trump has said on DC and NYC
On DC, Trump’s team was allegedly in touch with a Democrat, Washington’s Mayor Muril Bose, on the law-and control acquisition from July.
This was when Trump had clearly spoken about the city of New York, and Zoharan attacked Mamdani. Trump said, “If a communist is chosen to run New York, it can never be the same.
Trump said, “I can’t tell you yet, but we are going to make New York great again.”
Mamdani’s campaign office retaliated: “Donald Trump has once again selected to treat democracy as a suggestion and insulted more than half a million new Yorkers who led Zoharan Mamdani and voted for a city, which they can tolerate.”
‘Start with DC, go ahead’
On Monday, Trump called his Washington Law-and the order “historical action” and “liberation day”.
He said that he would start with DC, but a broad crack on crime will go to other Americans.
“We are going to clean it very quickly, very quickly, quickly,” he said.
Washington has been self-pouring since 1973, but Trump has cited the figures of the crime-the mayor that has counter-counters-to argue for the sanctuary acquisition. The autonomy of the capital has always been partially, however, under the Home Rule Act, which gives it an elected mayor and council, but leaves laws and budgets with the Congress.
Meanwhile, Zoharan Mamdani on Monday launched the ‘Five Boro Against Trump’ tour in New York City. He has said that he will “protect the city from Trump”, which means, among other things, to protect immigrants illegally and from potential exile.
For now, a 33-year-old Mammadani from the New York State Assembly, mainly against two fellow Democrats, who is contesting as an independent-the current mayor Eric Edams, and former Governor Andrew Kuoom, who he defeated for the party’s nomination. Republican candidate Curtis Sliva is a conservative media personality.
His expedition office last mentioned the federal acquisition of NYC, “Zoharan Mamdani won with the mandate, which was receiving the most primary vote in the history of New York City and as mayor, he would not allow Donald Trump to tear the city.”
