The new features include a cafeteria, 10 gazebos, two welcome gates and a toilet block.
Addressing a gathering, the Tourism Minister said that the current Bangladesh border region, Chatakhola, played an important role in defending Chittagong and Komila during the liberation war.
He said, “Muktayudh, with the help of the Indian Army, fought against the Pakistan Army. Finally, a new nation, Bangladesh, was created,” he said.
The government will attach the guide to the park, and they will explain to the tourists, especially from outside the state, how the Muttadas of the Chhatakhola camp played an important role in defeating the Pakistan Army in East Pakistan.
“Park is a symbol of friendship between India and Bangladesh. We never considered the people of Bangladesh as an enemy,” he said.
Chaudhary said that the government is planning to create a new tourist circuit in South Tripura district, including Park, Trishana Wildlife Sanctuary, which is known for Bisan, Pilk Archaeological Site and Buddhist Mahamuni Pagoda.
Chaudhary urged the youth to increase homestay facilities for tourists in Chhatkhola.
The foundation stone has been laid by Chief Minister Manik Saha for the construction of a replica of 51 Shakti Peethas by Chief Minister Manik Saha in Gomti district, he said that the structure will promote the state’s spiritual tourism fate.
An amount of 98 crore will be spent for the tourism project, which is ready to be completed within a year and a half.
Saying that the government is trying to develop tourism as an industry, Chaudhary said that the department will organize a festival to attract tourists.
