Netflix says that it has used visual effects created by generic artificial intelligence (AI) on screen for the first time in its original TV show.
Streaming giant’s co-CEO Ted Sarandos stated that AI, which produces videos and images based on signs, was used to create a scene of the collapse of a building in Argentina Sciences fiction Show, The Eternuts.
He praised technology “to help creators improve films and series as an incredible opportunity, not only cheap.”
The use of liberal AI is controversial in the entertainment industry and feared that it will change humans.
The company was commented after the company unveiled the revenue of $ 11.08BN (£ 8.25BN) for three months by the end of June, 16% more than last year.
Netflix said that the South Korean thriller had promoted a better-and-fed performance from the success of the third and final series of the South Korean thriller squad game, which has so far attracted 122 million views.
Asked about the use of AI of Netflix, Mr. Sarndos said that technology has allowed presentations to use advanced visual effects with small budgets.
He said that the generic AI used in Eternotes helped its production team complete the sequence 10 times faster, if they used traditional special influence tools, they said.
“Its cost is not possible for a show just in that budget.”
“This sequence is actually long ago [generative] AI final footage to appear on screen in a Netflix original series or film. So the creators were thrilled with the result, “said Mr. Sarandos.
AI was one of the major concerns raised during the Hollywood strike in 2023.
During the three-month walkout, the screen actors were called by the Guild-American Federation of Television and Radio Artists Union for strict regulation of the use of AI.
