According to the Hamas-Interested Health Ministry of the region, at least 32 Palestinians seeking food by Israeli gunmen near the two aid distribution points of Khan Unis and Rafa in Southern Gaza have been killed.
The controversial US and Israeli -backed Gaza Humanitarian Foundation (GHF) were also injured by two sites run by two sites.
The GHF stated that he had “no phenomenon on or on the sites, but the” Israel Defense Force (IDF) activity “occurred a few hours earlier due to his opening of his sites.
An eyewitness told the Reuters News Agency that the Israeli bullets seemed to be “targeted”.
The Palestinian Health Ministry said that several bodies were taken to a nearby Nasir Hospital on Saturday morning.
There are almost daily reports of Palestinians being killed while seeking assistance since the GHF started operations in late May. Eyewitnesses say that most have been shot by Israeli forces.
The IDF told the BBC that in the latest incident, the soldiers took out warning shots to stop “suspects”, stating that the incident took place before the aid sites were opened.
Mohammad al-Khalidi spoke to Reuters, pointing to the finger in the Israeli army for the attack.
He said that he was part of a group of Palestinians, which was told that the GHF aid distribution center was open, but when they arrived, the tanks started moving towards them and set fire to them.
“These were not shots that were to intimidate us or organize us, these were shots that were targeted to kill us, if they wanted to organize us, they would be with them, but they were to kill us.”
GHF uses private security contractors to distribute assistance from sites in the military areas of Israel. Israel and the United States say that the system is necessary to prevent Hamas from stealing assistance. The United Nations refuses to cooperate with it, describing it unethically and saying that Hamas is not provided any evidence of systematically turning assistance.
On July 15, the United Nations Human Rights Office stated that it has so far registered 674 murders in the area around four sites of GHF in southern and central Gaza in the last six weeks.
Another 201 murders were recorded with the United Nations and other aid convoy routes, it was added.
The GHF denied that its proximity to its sites has led to some deadly incidents and accused Gaza of using “false and misleading” data from Gaza’s Hamas-Interested Health Ministry. The ministry data is widely seen as a reliable count of bodies viewed by Ghazan Hospitals.
Israel does not allow international news organizations including BBC to send journalists to the area.
The United Nations also said this week that the number of malnourished children has doubled since Israel banned food to enter the area in March. Despite GHF significant assistance, including baby formula, is still being blocked at the border.
On Friday, the Director of the One Field Hospital said in a statement that he had unprecedented flow of patients suffering from severe exhaustion, weakness and acute malnutrition.
According to the media office of the Hamas government, 69 children have died due to malnutrition during the increasing humanitarian crisis so far.
On Friday, US President Donald Trump once again suggested that a ceasefire deal was very close – but a Palestinian official told the BBC that the negotiations were blocked, a latest contingent proposed by Israel is still unacceptable to Hamas with a latest contingent extraction map proposed by Israel.
