New Delhi: Four Naxalites died in an encounter with security personnel in Bijapur district of Chhattisgarh on Saturday.Three Naxalites were killed in an encounter with security forces in Gumla district of Jharkhand earlier in the day.According to officials, Intelligence inputs had indicated the presence of members of the Ghahkhand Jan Mukti Parishad (JJMP), a broken group of CPI (Maoist) in Lodagh in the border of Ghaghra police station.Acting on input, a joint operation was launched by the Jharkhand Jaguar Force and Gumla Police.Police said that there was an exchange of fire between the security forces and the Naxalites, in which several rounds were discharged from both sides.After gunfight, one AK-47 rifle and two INS rifles were recovered from the scene.Gola Superintendent of Police Haris bin Zaman said, “One of the deceased was identified as 32 -year -old Dilip Lehra, a resident of Belgada in Ghaghra. The other two dead are still running.”The SP said that JJMP members were hiding in a house near Lodag Chorltwa village for the last two to three days.He said, “As soon as the police reached the spot, they set fire and tried to escape. After this, three JJMP members were killed, while two managed to escape,” he said.
