A mother who was found dead in her home with her disabled daughter, has repeatedly refused to support local services, hearing an inquiry.
The bodies of Alphonsin Djiako Leuga, 47, and 18 -year -old Lorine Cholla were found on 21 May 2024 in a house on Hartley Road in Redford, Nottingham, although it was believed that he had died for some time before he was discovered.
Nottingham Koroner’s court heard that he had gone to his council’s house in June 2019 after a homeless application.
But in the years before his death, Alfonsin’s engagement with housing and social services decreased and feared that his youngest daughter would be taken.
The inquiry, starting on Monday, heard how Alphonsin had called 999 from her home in February, begged an ambulance and said she could not move forward.
But after the call, an abandoned call and closed were considered closed, no one participated.
The medical cause of alphonsin’s death was proposed as pneumonia, while her daughter was “unheard”.
On Tuesday, the court heard how she lived in Hartley Road, Alphonsin began to deny access to their assets from housing services and other social care agencies.
Alphonsin was in property since 2019 and was initially associated with the council services.
In a statement read by the court, Kathy Sheldon, Assistant Director of Tenncy and Estate Services at Nottingham City Council, said that “access to property became more difficult” after 2021.
Several inspections were remembered and the resulting property to the property was overshadowed in 2023.
In October that year, Alphonsin asked the city council to turn back for gas, but did not reach his property for this, interrogation was told.
This means that there was no hot water in the house since 2023 and there was no heating.
The court also heard how Lorin, who had down syndrome and learning inability, stopped attending his Sen school since 2022, when his mother asked to end her placement.
Concerns were raised by the school between 2021 and 2022 about the low appearance of her daughter.
Alphonsin also refused to help Lorin’s college applications and Lorin was “formally” in September 2022 [considered] Not in education, employment, or training “, heard inquiry.
It was reported that the entire life of the city council was also lacking with the support of the disability team, which provides expert social care to children.
Neil Bretel, who sent a city council, said in a statement, “Lorin was trying to join with professionals, but Alphonsin was trying to stop him from doing so.
“During a conversation with Alphonsin, she expressed that she was actually concerned about Loren.”
He said that Alphonsin expressed fear that expert social care activist “would take Lorin away from him”.
Alphonsin, who was originally from Cameroon, moved from Italy – where his two daughters were born in September 2016 in the UK.
The three were placed in Hartley Road by the council in 2019, but their eldest daughter, Elwera Chulla, moved out of property in April 2022.
In a police statement, which was read in court, Elvira said after July 2023, her contact with her mother decreased less frequently.
That month, Alphonsin took Loren in Africa on leave, not told Elivera until he arrived, who he said that he harasses him.
He said that his mother traveled a lot – usually in Italy or Cameroon – and “usually long”
In his sister’s education, Elvira said: “Initially Loren attended school and loved it, but Alphonsin eventually believed Lorin was being neglected in school.”
‘Really loving mother’
After Elvira met her sister and mother to meet a family, her last contact with Lorin was in November 2023.
“We had a cute time and we had a cute food and I met Lorin and Alphonsin together,” he said.
But moving forward, his contact was limited and when Elvira visited the house in early 2024, he said that the house was “in darkness and there were no signs of life”.
He was later told by a friend that his mother and sister were seen in February.
His friend advised him to contact the police on concerns about his hideout.
The last time he tried to contact alphonsin or lorin.
Elvira said, “Lorin and I had a wonderful relationship and that was, and still, my best friend,” said Elvera. “I loved Loren and every time I was with her, I could tell me that she loves me too.
Elvira added her mother: “We had a stressful relationship at the points, although she took great care of Lorin and was very patient and very intelligent, and was actually a loving mother.”
The inquiry is going on.
