New Delhi: Congress leader Rahul Gandhi said on Monday that as the Leader of the Opposition in the Lok Sabha, he has the right to speak in the House, but he was not allowed to do so, while the members of the government were making their statements. Gandhi made these comments to the media, as the Lok Sabha was postponed for the second time after the protests by the opposition parties. The opposition had demanded a discussion on Operation Sindore on the first day of the monsoon session. “The question is that the Defense Minister and his (BJP) people are allowed to speak, but if someone of the opposition wants to say anything, he is not allowed,” Gandhi said. “I am the Leader of the Opposition, this is my right, I have never allowed to speak,” he said, this is a “new approach”. Gandhi also commented on Prime Minister Narendra Modi, saying that he “ran out of the House in a second”. He said, “If they allow it, there will be a debate, but the issue is that if the people of the government say something, we should also be given a place. We wanted to say two words, but the opposition was not allowed,” he said. Earlier in the day, after the Obituari contexts, opposition members led by the Congress demanded a discussion on Operation Sindoor. Under this operation, the armed forces carried out attacks after a terrorist attack in Pahgam in Pakistan. Speaker Om Birla told The House that all issues, including Operation Sindoor, can be raised after the questioning, which is the first hour of the session when members ask questions related to various ministries and departments. “I will allow you to raise all issues after question hours. The house will only work through rules and regulations. This cannot allow it to raise resentment and placard, “Birla said.
BJP hit Rahul back
Responding to Rahul Gandhi’s allegations, the Bharatiya Janata Party said back to the Leader of the Opposition, saying that his intention is not allowed to work in the session. “Their intention is not allowed to work in the session. Their intention is not allowed to discuss the valor of the armed forces. The Lok Sabha Speaker said they would be allowed after the hour of question, but they got upset. The opposition is a disturbing element … people are seeing all this, “BJP MP Manoj Tiwari said while talking to reporters.BJP leader Jagdambika Pal also targeted Rahul and said, “You must be watching, I was constantly saying in a chair, the chairman said that whatever issues will be raised, the government is ready to answer. The Minister of Parliamentary Affairs said that his business advisory committee is a meeting, ready to prepare the government.,
