The population of England and Wales estimates that the year 2024 has increased by more than 700,000, showing the second largest growth in over 75 years, showing figures.
National Statistics Office (ONS) It was said that almost all the growth was caused by international migration, yet it was compared to 690,100 compared to 833,700 in June 2023, compared to 690,100 compared to the previous year.
Natural changes – where there are more births than death – only responsible for a small proportion.
Estimates suggests that in June 2024 there were 61.8 million people in England and Wales, more than 61.1 million to 706,881 in mid -2012.
The number of people living in England and Wales has increased annually from mid -1982, with migration to the most contributed to development every year since mid -1999.
Earlier, natural change was the main cause of development.
The increase in the year by June 2024 in the year is the largest year-to-year jump in the population since at least 1949-the first comparable ONS data.
The immigration deal with the previous conservative and current labor governments is an important challenge.
Labor said the estimate published on Wednesday “confirm the truth of Tory heritage on immigration”.
Home Secretary Yatete Cooper said: “Under Toryse, recruitment was done abroad during being admitted abroad, while training was cut in the UK, low-skilled migration increased, while the work of UK residents declined and hundreds of thousands of people were given visas to come and live in the UK.”
He said that the net migration “had come down very much under labor”, now there were strict control over the visa and strong requirements to connect the digit-based immigration system with skills and training.
Chhaya Home Secretary Chris Filp admitted that the number was “too much” and “pressure on housing and social harmony is unacceptable”.
He said: “Under the new leadership, the Conservative Party has carried forward serious, practical policies to bring the immigration number down dramatically.”
Reform UK leader, Nigel Faraj, said the figures “were destructive to the quality of life for all in the country. It puts impossible pressure on public services and divides our communities”.
ONS estimates that 1,142,303 people were free from 12 months in June 2024 to independent in England and Wales, while 452,156 were likely to live in, leaving a net migration figure of 690,147.
Last year, a decline from net migration of 833,696 is likely to have a decline in the number of foreign nationals from outside the European Union and studies on the end of their courses in students along with studies on work and study visas.
The change in migration rules launched by the previous orthodox government in early 2024 included restrictions on international students to bring family members to the UK, as well as banning foreign care workers from bringing dependents.
There were slightly higher births (596,012) than death (566,030), adding 29,982 to the population.
This natural change increased the size of the population in four regions – London, South -East England, West Midlands and Eastern England.
ONS stated that negative natural changes in other areas were, “Long -term decline in fertility and increasing number of deaths due to the increasing ratio of older people”.
Previous ONS figures shown Women had an average of 1.44 children in England and Wales Between 2022 and 2023, the lowest on record.
Cross 10 years from 2014 to 2024, the highest level growth in Eastern Midlands was 9.1%, while North-East England had the lowest 5.7%.
