Medicare Data Breach exposes personal information of more than 100,000 Americans

Healthcare data remains a top target for cyber criminal. In June alone, two major violations compromised more than 13 million patient records. Now, a newly confirmed Medicare Data Brech has affected over 100,000 Americans.

The Center of Medicare and Medicade Services (CMS) sent letters to the affected people this week, confirming that hackers accessed sensitive data associated with Medicare.Gov accounts.

Violations for suspected activity begin in late 2023. According to CMS, the cyber criminal used personal data stolen from external sources, which fake medicines.
