Mercedes is his manager as well as his employer who complicates questions on the talks with the team’s principal Toto Wolf.
“Whenever we come on an agreement, we will complete it but it will have to work for both of us,” Russell said.
“Some we need to think. What do they want and what I want?
“We have been in a unique position for the last few months, I do not have great power in this agreement. And perhaps the interests were not aligned for the last six months.

Russell said that he never had any real doubt about his future as he was performing at a higher level, but he wants to take the next three -week summer brakes to think more carefully about his situation.
