West Ham has signed Midfielder Matus Fernandes from Southampton, which is in a deal of over 40m.
The 21 -year -old Portuguese joined the five -year contract and follow West Ham’s third largest signature, Sebastian Halor (£ 45m) and Lucas Pakwetta (£ 51m).
Fernandes moved to Southampton from the game for £ 15m in 2024, so saints have made sufficient profit after a year.
He performed 46 for Southampton, scoring four goals and provided seven assistance.
“I am very excited to play for West Ham,” said Fernandes.
“I think this is a big step for me. It is a big club, a huge club. Project, stadium, city, everything.”
The step should be a boost for the under-pressure Hammers Manager Graham Potter, whose side has lost its first three matches of the season in all competitions.
Chelsea was defeated 3–0 by the newly-deliberated Sunderland in his first Premier League before he was thrushing 5–1, and lost to wolves in the second round of the Karbao Cup.
The West Ham is close to fulfilling the signature of Monaco Midfielder Soungoutou Magassa for a fee of around £ 17.3m.
