Rashford’s career has been a mixed bag, with dramatic disappearance in recent times. Do people in Barcelona consider him quite good for making a meaningful impression for their new team?
Jamie Easton Gombau: Well, it depends on whom we see Marcus Rashford. A few years ago, he was quite a lot – one of the best players in the Premier League. But if he gives a performance of the same level that we saw in the last season for Aston Villa, it would not be enough for Barcelona.
We need to understand one thing: Barca has effectively swap Ansu Fati for Rashford, and Fati is not the player we saw a few years ago. So I think it is a win for Barca and Rashford … and perhaps even for Manchester United, because if he scores and assists in dual figures, its market value will increase.
Tony Padila: It will be difficult for him to start a lot of games, as Rafinha, Lamine Yamal and Levandowski are already. Torres and Olmo will not be very happy that Rashford is in the city because now they have more competition, but Flicks has asked for a deep team so Rashford will have opportunities. This is on that: he needs to prove that he is eligible to play in big games.
Jordan Pons: I remember when Rashford was young and he promised a lot. He defeated the defenders, ran over and down on the wing, and at the top I liked his shot from mid-range.
Sometimes players may lose their way, but I see someone who is ready to give up his salary and tries to re-establish himself in a team like Barca. A few years ago, everyone was talking about how great he was, and how big a career he was. Now he has got a big opportunity ahead of him to return to that world class level.
