The brother of a man who carried out the 2017 Manchester Arena bombing has been accused of killing three jail officials and attempting for the fourth attack.
Hasham Abdi, who is jailed for a minimum of 55 years in 2020, is accused of attacking four guards in high security HMP Frankeland for a minimum 55 years to help plan suicide bombing.
The 28 -year -old, which was then placed in a separate unit in the County Durham Jail, also faced the fifth allegation of unauthorized possession of the knife.
He is scheduled to appear in the Westminster Magistrate Court on 18 September.
Counter Terrorism Policing North East said the allegations followed a “intensive investigation” with Durham Constable and jail authorities.
Three jail officials were rushed to the hospital with serious injuries.
After the alleged attack, Abedi was taken from HMP Frankeland, which was said to be the time that included a knife and cooking oil.
The Ministry of Justice earlier said that there would be a complete, independent review in the incident, which criticized the remaining people and the families of the victims of the bombing.
