A person is seriously injured after being shot by the police at Kent.
The incident occurred on Monday, when the authorities were called to a address in Hallingborn to arrest at around 19.15 BST.
The person, who is yet to be identified, was rushed to the hospital, which is considered about life -changing injuries.
Kent police said that “while staying at the scene, a gun was discharged” by an officer of it and the independent office for police conduct (IOPC) confirmed that it was investigating.
A spokesperson of the IOPC said: “We have started an independent investigation after the Kent Police shot and was seriously injured, which was responding to an incident on Monday 7 July.
“We were informed by force after the incident in Hallingbourne, which happened shortly before 9 pm, and some time later announced an independent investigation,” he said.
“The man is receiving treatment in the hospital for his injuries that are considered to change life.
“We have sent investigators to the spot. Our investigation is in very early stages.”
A spokesman for the Kent Police said that the force was “supporting” the IOPC investigation.
