New Delhi: The Haryana government has ordered a 24 -hour suspension of mobile internet and wholesale SMS services in NUH district, which is effective for spreading wrong information, citing the possibility of effective unrest till 9 pm on July 14 on July 14 till 9 pm on July 9 at 9 pm.The instructions issued by the Home Department under Section 20 of the Telecom Act, 2023, and Rule 3 of Telecom (Temporary Suspension) Rule 3 of Rule 3, Police Additional Director General (CID) and NUH come after warnings from the deputy commissioner. Officials expressed concern about the spread of inflammatory content and rumors through social media that could provoke violence or damage public and private property.In a formal order, the state government said that mobile internet (2G/3G/4G/5G/cdma/gPRS), bulk SMS (except people related to banking and mobile recharge), and dongle services have been suspended. Voice calls, broadband internet and corporate lease lines are unaffected.
The Home Department said, “This order is a precautionary measure to maintain public peace and prevent any possible law and order disturbances,” saying that the decision balances the needs of safety with public convenience by giving exemption to essential services.The order has warned that anyone was found to be a violation of suspension instructions, will face legal action under the applied laws. The suspension is temporary, but reflects increasing concerns over digital platforms that are being used to raise protests or spread disruptive materials in sensitive areas.NUH, an area that has seen unrest in the past, remains close to eyes because the purpose of the authorities is to stop any growth.
