Officers at Kentki are investigating an officer-Slum-shooting shooting with a suspect, allegedly injuring worshipers in a baptist church.
In an X statement, Kentaki State Police (KSP) said it was investigating the shooting of a Fayet County, which took place at 11:36 am on Sunday.
The suspect, who is currently dead, allegedly escaped at Richmond Road Baptist Church in Lexington. Shooting began at a different place than the church.
“The suspect shot a tropper and then ran to Richmond Road Baptist Church and ran away when KSP and Lexington Police Department … were able to secure the suspect,” the post said.

“At this time, we can confirm that the tropper is receiving medical attention,” the police said. “There are many victims in the church, and the EMS is on the scene. The suspect is the deceased.”
Governor Andy Aashiyar posted a post about shooting on X, asked all to pray for the victims.

“Please pray for all affected by these insensitive acts of violence, and let us thank you for a rapid response by Lexington Police Department and Kentki State Police,” the Governor wrote.
“Details are still emerging, and we will share more information as available.”
