Jess Gailin has said that she feels “sick” that the White House has used the viral jet2holiday advertisement, showing her song as a video promoting a video as audio.
White House posted a clip on X on Wednesday evening Showing people with handcuffs by immigration and customs enforcement on a Globalx flight.
The JET2 advertisement features Glynne’s 2015 Single Hold My Hand, and a cheer voiceover, stating that “nothing is a jet 2 holiday” – which has become a meme – is played on the video.
The post was captioned: “When snow books you give a holiday for one-way jet2 holiday. Nothing beats!”
In response to the clip, Gelin said on Instagram that her music is “about spreading love, unity and positivity – never about partition or hatred”.
The White House Post on X was found with criticism by some people – one user said the clip was “shameful and unprofessional”, while the other said that it “shows the real shortage of humanity”.
Others have praised Trump for their stance on immigration.
This is not the first time the Trump administration has posted memes on its social media account.
Earlier this month, an image with the President’s face on Superman’s face was shared into account with caption: “Truth. Justice. The American Way. Superman Trump.”
A few weeks ago, the administration posted on X, saying: “Nowhere in the Constitution, we do not say that we cannot post Bangar Mems.”
President Trump has recently committed $ 170 billion for border and immigration enforcement, including $ 45M for custody. A federal law enforcement agency, ICE, will see a growing of $ 76.5BN in five years.
‘Politicians should not use it’
The jet2holiday advertisement went viral at the beginning of summer, which was used in more than two million videos on Tiktok.
People have used audio to share funny and chaotic holiday videos – the most seen woman is a woman on a rollercaster who is killed by a seagel in the chest.
The sound is also placed on destructive moments such as aircraft quarrels, holiday accidents and unsuccessful travel plans.
Zo Lister is actor behind the voiceover and has been working with jet2holidays for many years.
She had earlier told the BBC before the video of the White House was released, that she loves the fact that the advertisement has gone viral.
But it does not approve politicians and similar public data using the soundtrack.
“It’s not just a vibe – it means being a funny and a way for people to share funny things in a way.
Earlier this month, he said, “Somebody has not done anything like a serious person to carry forward his political agenda that I agree.”
Lister says that she cannot believe that the advertisement has gone viral and often hears people hearing the sound when she is publicly out.
“It is cheerful that I am now being booked for gigs and festivals, people can not do it enough.”
The BBC has approached Jet 2 holidays for comments.
