New Delhi: The Rashtraapathri Swayamsevak Sangh put a final complete stop over the retirement of Prime Minister Narendra Modi on the retirement of Prime Minister Narendra Modi as he is going at the age of 75 after his birthday in September. RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat on Thursday explained the speculation going around the retirement criteria, speaking at the “100 -year journey of 100 years – a 100 -year journey of the new horizon”. He dismissed the reports stating that he or any of the union should leave the post to reach the age of 75 years. RSS chief Bhagwat said, “There is no RSS chief on a family person, but that person needs to dedicate all his time to the organization. I never said that I will retire or someone else should retire at the age of 75 years.” Over the years, the opposition has criticized the BJP for its clear policy of not fielding candidates over 75 years of age. The attitude was allegedly based on the comments made by Shah before the 2019 Lok Sabha elections, where he said that it was his party’s decision not to give Lok Sabha poll tickets to people over 75 years of age, making experienced leaders like LK Advani and Murali Manohar missing. Shah said, “Only the media is only advancing this issue. No one has been given tickets above 75. This is the party’s decision.” He made these comments in an interview in ‘The Week’.However, Shah later clarified that it was an election decision, emphasizing this, “There is no provision about age anywhere in the BJP’s Constitution.” Aam Aadmi Party chief Arvind Kejriwal also voiced his concerns, stating, “He (PM Modi) will retire next year. He is seeking votes to make Amit Shah Prime Minister during his election campaign. In addition, Shah claimed that the BJP does not make it mandatory to retire leaders above 75 years of age.
