In a step that can please iPhone users worldwide, WhatsApp may soon allow to switch between two accounts within the same app, simplifying dual use. This is expected to simplify life for any person having individual and commercial conversations on the upcoming updated WhatsApp.
So far, using two accounts means switching between equipment or relying on WhatsApp business. For iPhone users, there has never been a straightforward way to use several WhatsApp accounts in the same app. It may change soon.
What is expected?
Right now, most users either use WhatsApp business or rely on informal apps to run two accounts. But WhatsApp is now working on a facility that lets you manage many accounts inside the main app. This upcoming facility is being tested in beta versions of WhatsApp for iOS (25.9.10.70 and 25.19.10.74). This will let you add another account by entering a new number or adding an existing by using the QR code.
Once your accounts are set, switching between them will be quick and easy. You will not have to log out or restart the app. WhatsApp will show your profile picture and name for the account you are currently used, so you will always know which is active.
WhatsApp is also making information smart for this new facility. If you get a message on an account, the alert will tell you which account this account has been received and who has sent it. Just tap on the notification, and it will take you directly to the right account and open the chat.
This feature can be especially easy for users with eSIM on its iPhones, as they can keep several phone numbers active without the need of two phones.
There is no confirmed date so far, but WhatsApp’s multi-account feature is already being tested on the iPhone. This shows that the official rollout cannot be overcome. Once available, it will help the iPhone users to manage more than one account easily like Android. While the wait continues, the update promises to be a useful for those who want to keep a personal and work message separate without switching the apps or using an additional tool.
