President Donald Trump is honoring the retired US Army Sergeant. Michael Verrardo, one of the most frightenedly injured heroes of the Afghanistan war, died on Tuesday at the age of 40 due to complications from the injuries in the battlefield.

On April 24, 2010, Verrardo stepped on an IED, serving the Arghandab River Valley in Afghanistan.
The explosion claimed that her left leg, her hand badly damaged, causing severe irritation, and a painful brain injury. He flattened several times, but escaped thanks to medical care and sheer patience. Later he explained why he marked as his “live day” on 24 April every year, saying that he chose to focus on what he had lost, but “what do I have.”
In the next four years, Verrdo underwent 120 surgery at Walter Reid and Brook Army Medical Center. In 2013, he married his high school Jnanman, Sara Konklin, who stood by him through his recovery.
In her marriage, Verrardo said about her bride: “As long as I know her, I love her.” The couple raised three daughters together.

Sara has long spoken about ignoring that she tells her husband about the challenges after the explosion. “He had a poly-trauma, which means many systems were horrified,” he explained in an interview with the Providence Journal, given that his recovery was never a straight line. He said, “Wearing uniforms of our country was respected by his lifetime, and it is my honor to take care of him.”
Sara wrote about her husband Sparsh Instagram Post It was shared on Wednesday, “This was my lifetime respect for being my wife. His person. My heart is broken. He fought a good battle every day and gave us everything that she had. I promised her that I would always do well in her honor.”

He helped launch a trackchair initiative in partnership with Fox News and his audience, raised millions of dollars and changed life. The program was later expanded to include Vietnam veterans, to ensure that earlier generations were respected and supported by heroes.
