New Delhi: India and Israel on Wednesday agreed to further strengthen their expanded defense cooperation with a long -term perspective, even Tel Aviv strongly condemned the terrorist attack in Pahgam on 22 April.The countries decided to work towards developing an institutional structure to further deepen their bilateral defense relations in a conversation between Defense Secretary Rajesh Kumar Singh and Chief General of the Director General of the Ministry of Defense of Israel.“The Israeli DG condemned the terrorist attack in Pahalgam and gave full support for India’s fight against terrorism. Singh, in turn, reiterated India’s zero tolerance approach to terrorism. An official said that Singh also condemned terrorist attacks in Israel on October 7, 2023 and called for release of all hostages.Both sides reviewed the progress of the ongoing defense cooperation activities since the meeting of the final joint work group held in July 2024. “This visit to Israeli’s DG Israel is an important step in India-Israel defense relations and confirms the commitment of both sides to increase their strategic partnership,” the official said.India used a large-scale Israeli-original arms systems during cross-limit enmity with Pakistan from 7 to 10 May.
