New Delhi: India Block leaders gathered for a dinner meeting organized by Congress leader Rahul Gandhi on Thursday evening to discuss the ongoing special intensive amendment (SIR) exercise in Bihar and in recent allegations of elections in elections related to the Election Commission (EC).An informal meeting was held at Gandhi’s residence and about 50 leaders from 25 opposition parties participated. During the discussion, Gandhi made a presentation underlining the explosive claims of a “huge criminal fraud”, in which he accused the ruling party of collusion between the BJP and the EC.Congress leader Gaurav Gogoi described the meeting as “positive” and confirmed that the head exercise and revelations made by Gandhi were the main discussion. He said that this was not a formal meeting and other issues were also discussed.Gogoi said, “The way opposition parties have been united in Parliament in the national interest and the government has got the same unity in the meeting.”The Communist Party of India (CPI) general secretary D Raja called the meeting very meaningful. Raja said, “Today’s meeting was very meaningful, this issue was going on, how the Sir, and EC is working, as far as nominations are concerned, their identity is related, how the wrong things are being done,” the king said.National Conference (NC) leader Farooq Abdullah raised the state issue for Jammu and Kashmir, stating that the Center had not yet had to fulfill its promise. He recently expressed concern over the ban on some books in the region, called it unconstitutional.The leaders present at the meeting include Congress President Mallikrajun Kharge, Sonia Gandhi, Sharad Power (NCP-SP), Akhilesh Yadav (SP), Tejashvi Yadav (RJD), Udhav Thakere (Shiv Sena-Obat).Chief Minister Siddaramaiah (Karnataka), Sukhwinder Singh Sukhu (Himachal Pradesh) and Revant Reddy (Telangana) were also present.Other attendees include Priyanka Gandhi, Jayer Ramesh, Mahua Maji (JMM), NK Premchandran (RSP), Dimple and Ram Gopal Yadav (SP), as well as Forward Block, VCK, Kerala Congress (M), MDMK, KMDK, PWK, RLP, IML and IML and IML and IML and IML.The meeting came on the same day when Rahul Gandhi presented data for the 2024 Lok Sabha elections, claiming that more than one lakh votes were “stolen” in the Karnataka Assembly section through five different methods of manipulation. He said that “vote theft” is an atomic bomb on our democracy.The opposition has been vocal against head practice in Bihar, warning that it can give rise to disintegration of many people. They are planning a protest march for the Election Commission headquarters in Delhi in the coming days.
