The Gonclaves family has been vocal in rejection of their argument deal, while Chapin and Mozen families have supported the move. But despite his separate opinion, families have expressed that Kohberger’s deal with prosecutors caught him from the guard.
“If I could physically do a handstand, I would probably do one, because I am very ready,” Jim Chapin, the father of Ethan, said “Today.” “I am ready to move my children forward. I am ready to move forward. I mean, it’s almost two and a half years, and it, that’s it, it is over.”

Stacey Chapin stated that his first response in terms of judicial process for Kohberger was “an eye for one eye”, but after talking with the prosecutors, he agreed “it was a better deal.”
