In a Tuesday statement, the Ice said the investigation began in April 2023 when the National Center for Missing and the exploited children received a cyber tip from Reddit about the distribution of child sexual abuse materials. Authorities detected the tip at an IP address attached to the residence of Rice in Elkton, Maryland.
The Maryland State Police questioned rice about the misconduct material, and although he denied the allegations, he was later celebrated “to remove photos from his phone.”
According to Ice’s statement, when Rice showed his phone to the authorities, the investigators were able to present the child sexual abuse material in a thumbnail image. The authorities then highlighted the additional material in their recently removed folders.
