The return of Rodri in Manchester City’s starting XI was supposed to be a step in the right direction for the struggling club, but it was more of the same for the Citizens against Brighton on Sunday, and the Spanish midfielder defended his performance.
“I’m not [Lionel] Messi, “Rhodri said after the city’s 2–1 defeat at the American Express Stadium.” I am not going to come back and win the team and win. This is a collective. When we won in the past, I needed all my colleagues.
“Surely, I have to fix and find my best levels. It’s not because I am going back to win. This is a collective game. Hopefully after the break, we can return much better.”
Brighton’s defeat faced the domestic loss to Tottenham 2–0 for the city over the previous weekend, demonstrating the same weaknesses and brittle in the previous season, when as champions, the title surrendered for Liverpool after four consecutive years as a champion.
“This is reality – we are not at the level of long (first),” said City Midfielder Rodri, who is the Bellon D’Or winner, who was starting in the league for the first time since September last year, after a serious knee injury.
Branzan Gruda scored a vacant mesh for the 89th-minute winner for Brighton, through an open defense, a goalkeeper James Trafford scored, which was caught for Hanland’s first-half-strike-to his 88th goal in 100 premiere league performances since going to England in 2022.
City accepted a synamantic in the 67th minute, when Maths Nuns raised its arm in the area to block a shot, James Milner converted the penalty for Brighton-at the age of 39 and 239 days the second oldest scorer in the Criminal League history. He is the second youngest, nominated as a 16 -year -old child for Leeds.
With the focusable disappearance in the city, Brighton made a succession of opportunities before converting one to repeat Gruda once to win the city 2–1 in the previous season.
This season the only points so far came from the early winning victory in Wolverhampton, after which the Pandits said that Guardiola’s team had returned. Now, it has less marks than Manchester United.
