Eyewitnesses have described their surprise by looking at a hot air balloon that is trying to get into a residential road between the parks, telegraph poles and wires and lines of houses.
Sam Coldham stated that he looked at the balloon at Bover Street, Bedford at around 09:30 BST, while he was taking out the dog with his fellow Sian King, who shot some footage.
He said that it was “hovering” in the air and it did not seem that it was about to come down in the nearby Russell Park, so the guide was helped to catch the rope so that it could descend safely.
He said that no one was injured, he did not touch anything apart from the ground, and the pilot told him that he had “saved his bacon”.
