Nearly three decades after the 1996 sentence for the killings of parents, Menandez brothers tried to create a new way towards potential freedom this time with the help of Hollywood.

How the bid for resentment started

The route to the Reta of Menandez Brothers began in 2023, when his defense team filed a captive corpus petition, which presented new evidence of long -oriented abuse.

As of October 2024, Los Angeles District Attorney George Gaskon captured the petition, lowering the sentences of the brothers to 50 years of parole without lowering life.
His decision, which would make men eligible for parole under the young criminal laws of California, came in a moment when their own election campaign was struggling and their election numbers were faltering.

On Thursday, the parole board denied Eric Menandez’s bid for release in San Diego. On Friday, the parole board also denied the bid of the Lile Menandage for release.
