Officers in Hawaii are searching for a suspect, who allegedly threw acid on a man’s face in Honolulu on Friday night, causing him to be in critical condition.
According to the Honolulu Police Department (HPD), the authorities responded to a complaint of an attack in the Chintown area after 10 pm.
Witnesses reported that a 30 -year -old man was crossing the road when an unknown suspect approached and threw an unknown liquid on his face.
The Honolulu Fire Department later recognized the liquid as sulfuric acid, a highly corrosive chemical that severely burns the skin, eyes and internal tissue.

An HPD spokesperson told Fox News Digital that emergency respondents rushed the victim to the hospital, where he lives in critical condition.
Due to the severity of their injuries, the HPD detectives were unable to interview them to collect additional information.
The spokesman said, “Initial investigation indicates that the victim did not know the suspect.” “Right now, spies are canceling the scene to recover any monitoring video and detect any additional witness.”

HPD described the case as the first-degree attack, a serious hooliganism in Hawaii.
Detectives have not determined a purpose, and it is not clear whether the attack is qualified as a hatred crime.

The suspect is described as a 6-foot man who was last seen wearing a blue fit shirt and was carrying a do-rag and a red bottle with a camera around his neck. The investigation is on, the police said.
