The terrible case of 28 -year -old Nikki, which was reportedly placed by her husband and in -laws on the demand for a dowry in Sirsa village. 35 lakhs have shook the region and protested, demanding justice. Police confirmed that Nikki died due to her injuries while transferring from Noida’s Fortis Hospital to Safdarjung Hospital in Delhi.
Her husband, Vipin Bhati (28) has been arrested, while her father Satyar Bhati and brother Rohit Bhati are on run. Cedar also named Nikki’s mother -in -law, Daya.
As the investigators excavate deeply, many disturbing details have come out.
Six year old child was seen scary
Perhaps the most chilling description is that Nikki’s six -year -old son saw his mother setting fire. In his statement, the boy said: “Mary Mamma’s cuishes were crushed, then Anko Chanda Mara Fire Light Si Ega Laa Di” (he put something on my mother, slapped her and set her with a lighter). The child’s testimony adds a harsh dimension to the cruelty of crime.
Crime caught on video
Two disturbing videos of the incident are roaming online. The one shows that Nikki is being attacked and dragged by her hair, while the other catches her after taking her down the stairs. The clip recorded by Nikki’s elder sister Kanchan, who is allegedly married in the same family, has intensified public outrage.
Years of dowry harassment
Nikki married Vipin in December 2016. While no dowry was exchanged at that time, his sister Kanchan revealed that the in-laws started pressurizing the family. Soon 35 lakhs. The two sisters were reportedly tortured for dowry, said Kanchan said, “They hit her in her neck and head, threw acid, and tortured us.”
Accused tries to portray death as suicide
Even when the police registered a murder case, an Instagram post was revealed by Vipin, suggesting that Nikki’s suicide had died. “Why did you leave me? The world is calling me a killer, Nikki,” read her post, then a video of her smiling with Nikki and her son. The police have described it as a clear attempt to mislead it and disregard the faults.
In -laws wanted to remarry Vipin
Kanchan has alleged that Nikki’s in -laws wanted to remove her so that Vipin could remarry. He claimed that the sisters were attacked together and were left unconscious after being slapped. Kanchan told reporters, “They wanted my sister … they were planning their second marriage.”
Police and public response
Greater Noida ADCP Sudhir Kumar confirmed that a case has been filed on the charge of murder, criminal conspiracy, and voluntarily suffered an injury under the Indian Joint Code. Vipin is in custody, while the teams are working to locate absconding relatives.
Meanwhile, the residents of Sirsa village have taken to the streets, demanding fast justice. Protests have taken place with the mantras of “Justice for Nikki”, as anger is another cruel case of dowry violence in Uttar Pradesh.
